As with just about anything brandishing the Pokémon name, Pokémon Stadium is a must-have for any Pokémaniac. But this title is especially geared towards owners of Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue, or Pokémon Yellow, for the Game Boy. Using the same battle system as the Game Boy games--think highly advanced paper-scissors-stone-Pokémon Stadium allows players to enter their Pokémon in a variety of tournaments and other battle modes, all featuring vibrant 3-D graphics and animation, as well as enhanced sounds and announcer commentary. Using the included Transfer Pak, players can use their own Pokémon from Game Boy Game Paks, or they can choose from a pool of rental Pokémon. Pokémon Stadium isn't all battles, though. The Kids Club mode features nine cutesy mini-games that make for great multiplayer fun for all ages. Gallery mode lets players take snapshots of Pokémon (similar to Pokémon Snap), which can then be printed out as stickers at your local Pokémon Snap station. While Pokémon Stadium doesn't require that you already have any Game Boy version of Pokémon, players won't be able to access two of the best features of the game without one. Pokémon Lab allows players to view, store, and better organise the data on their Game Paks, as well as trade Pokémon with another player (which requires an additional Transfer Pak, sold separately). GB Tower allows gamers to play their Game Boy Pokémon cartridge on the Nintendo 64. --Joe Hon

- A classic game from nintendo
I personally like this game even though it is really old now. I like the mini games on it and they provide a nice break from the main story. I have transfered my pokemon from pokemon gold to this and I have to say that it is much better than the awful pokemon battle revolution on the wii even though it's 7 years older than its wii counterpart. Recomended and I hope they bring this to the virtual console

... for at the time, this was considered incredible - you could upload your Gameboy Pokemon up to this N64. Times have changed however, and I was only laughing the only day with a mate when we rushed off to buy this. Now, my days are spent at work. I won't get embarrassed about that!

This is the best game i have ever played,
perfect graphics and great levels.

This game represents pokemon at it's golden age before it fell into repeatally introducing 100 or so new characters. The graphics are beautiful even if they look a bit worn compared to Pokemon staduim 2 or Pokemon Colloseum. The extra games are packed in and the transfar pack is inculded (which adds that extra zing to the gameplay). I don't own this game but my mate let me borrow it so I know what I'm on about. Buy it, rent it whatever....Just play it!!!!

If you really enjoied playing for hours Pokemon red, blue, yellow, silver and gold in Nintendo Game Boy, you will definetily love Pokemon Stadium! It contains most of the Pokemons up to the date that it was published, and is very similar to the Game Boy games; it will remind you also the pokemon tv series. It is a very nice game to have in your collection, especially if you like the little Pocket Monsters!
