- Not really aimed at fiction writers
I've been wanting to write fiction for a while now and the "ABC Checklist" seemed like a good tool to learn the basics. It's very neatly presentated and easy to follow with some good hints and tips. But I felt that it focused too much on writing and publishing non-fiction (articles, etc), which for a relatively short book (240 pages) didn't leave a lot of room for much else.

- Wonderful resource
The ABC Checklist is a hugely practical, user friendly and knowledgeable resource for any aspiring writer. It combines very sensible 'how to' advice on looking for agents and publishers, alongside easy to understand tips on the craft of writing itself. Five stars.

- Helpful? Much more than that.
One of the authors of this book took me under her wing even before this great book was published.
Not only did she give me wondrful advice on getting published, she managed to teach me more about spelling and punctuation than I ever learned at school. All over the internet and in a very short time.
She understood my dyslexia and came up with answers!
No-one else ever did that.
Recommended book? I would say so.

- Little to Offer
There is absolutely nothing new in this book. It looks like the authors have weighed up the best of the 'How To'books and simply formatted the information alphabetically. Given that at least one of them has never had a fiction book published this does smack of 'those who can do and those who can't teach.'

- A Tenner Well Spent
I keep any number of writers' manuals on my bookshelf, but the beauty of this one is its ABC format. Instead of wading through a detailed index and then crawling through a page of text, it allows me to pinpoint exactly the advice I'm seeking in a matter of seconds.

If you're a writer or a wannabe and you don't have it, get it.
