Read More Rating: - Very GoodThis is a well adapted version of Flying colours read superbly by Ioan Gruffud. His voice certainly brings the book to life. However, the books can get a tad repetetive and you do get the feeling that you've heard it all before, but still a splendid addition to the Hornblower series, and certainly worth the money. Rating: - A well crafted historical novel, fast paced with plenty of pExcellent characterization and a finely drawn background of France during the Naopoleonic wars enhance this exciting tale of escape from execution in Paris by Captain Hornblower and his companions. It is not necessary to have read any of the other novels in the Hornblower series to reap the full reward of this epic adventure, and it can be recommended for newcomers to C S Forester's naval hero.
